Hi and welcome to my dissertation study blog! I am a doctoral student in the School of Social Work at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.
This topic of behavioral healthcare provider competency is important to me because I worked as a service provider in many different settings. I have over 6 years of clinical experience with children, adolescents, and adults in service settings such as inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, in-home intensive therapy, case management, and group home care, and I am an LCSW in North Carolina. I have worked with persons who suffer from serious mental illness, as well as co-occurring issues involving either a developmental disability, substance use disorder, or both.
